W18 is the shortened form of No.12G02897W18 global directive by Motolora Inc., the topic of this directive is the statement for be controlled and recorded materials.
The directive is the material's demands for manufacture supplier by Motolora Inc, it ask the products, which be provided by these manufacture supplier, should meet the demands of restriction of 52 hazardous substances.
2.the content of W18:
According to the addenda W18, it list 58 hazardous substances and their maximal concentration, such as asbestos, heavy metals, brominated organic compounds, etc.

Our center has been accredited by Motolora, to be the one of global cooperation laboratories, and only one materials assay laboratory in Asia. We were awarded the best partner award in 2003 and 2004.

The clients need take the sample apart in details before delivering them, and then pack them
separately and mark their name of every component. The necessary weight of homogeneous
material is following:
lTesting heavy metals:Provide 5-10g samples for solid sample and 5-10 mL for liquid sample
lTesting PBBs and PBDEs: Provide 10-20g samples for solid sample and 10-20 mL for liquid sample
l Testing heavy metals , PBBs and PBDEs:Provide 20-30g samples.
l Testing other organic hazardous substance:Provide 20g samples every item
lTesting Cr6+ in the sample's coating: Provide the weight or surface area of coating in sample according to ISO3613 and you would better tell us the materials of both the base and the coating,the thickness of the coating . |
